For those who don’t really know yet about our campaign, don’t forget that our fight aims to offer to cancer reached patients, 100 implantable chamber which will facilitate the chemotherapy treatment. For the ones who are still not convinced by the importance of these chambers, we present you a testimonial from one of the 12 first patients who already received a device.
“I am reached by cancer and I have a treatment by chemotherapy. Hence, I found about the “A donation for a cause” campaign implantable chambers.
When I discovered that I was one of the patients who will receive the implantable chamber thanks to this campaign, I felt like I was still lucky. Even if I have a severe disease, I will, at least, get rid from the negative effect due to the chemotherapy by cannula in the venous system, which is more and more painful and unpleasant. Repetitive stings – blood samples, the chemotherapy treatment, the tomography (with contrast substance) or MRI (with contrast substance). Of course, the stings are painful, and if the vein breaks, you will be stung again.
The treatment is long, and, overtime, the veins are destroyed due to repetitive stings. I’m glad that I obtained an implantable chamber and I want to thank those who contributed to the campaign. With the destroyed veins, you won’t get rid of the pain, repetitive stings, the uncomforted when they stung and sometimes the bruises in the area. I can better stand the chemotherapy which, as I said, is lasting.” Cornelia Konig
